Overview of Role: 

The Network Architect (Senior) is responsible for developing detailed technical network designs for Department of Defense campus network modernization programs. This role translates high-level architectural concepts into implementable engineering specifications, designs routing, switching, VLAN, QoS, and ISP/OSP network infrastructure, and prepares formal network design packages and engineering documentation. Additional responsibilities include leading integration planning with enterprise network management systems, developing configuration standards, performing technical review of installation specifications, supporting network integration lab testing, maintaining high-level and low-level network infrastructure drawings, and providing ongoing engineering guidance throughout the modernization lifecycle. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Develops detailed technical network designs for DoD campus network modernization programs, translating high-level architectural concepts into complete, implementable engineering specifications. Designs routing, switching, VLAN, QoS, and ISP/OSP network infrastructure; prepares formal network design packages and engineering documentation; leads integration planning with enterprise network management systems; develops STIG-compliant configuration standards; performs technical review of installation specifications; supports network integration lab testing; and provides engineering guidance throughout the modernization lifecycle. DoDAF SV-1/SV-2 diagram production; HLD/LLD network infrastructure drawing maintenance. "Systems Architect

Educational and Certification Requirement:  

Over 10 years’ experience and a M.A./MS degree.  

 

CCIE or CCNP; 10+ yrs DoD network design; IPv4/IPv6, OSPF/BGP, VLAN/QoS, STIG experience 
RF engineering certifications; HERO spectrum management experience; 802.11ax/Wi-Fi 6E; private 5G/LTE familiarity preferred 

Must have an Active Secret Clearance
